CICEG seeks to bring supply chain partners together

More than 80 companies recently took part in a business networking event organised by the CICEG footwear industry association in the Mexican state of Guanajuato.

The event, which took place on December 16, was the first in a series of meetings that CICEG plans to organise in order to bring together footwear manufacturers and potential component suppliers. 

This first edition attracted 13 shoe manufacturers and nearly 70 companies which provide components such as leather, adhesives and soles. The component suppliers took part in 15-minute meetings with each manufacturer in which they discussed how they could work together in the future. 

According to local media reports, these short conversations have led to further meetings with a view to establishing new relationships from 2019 onward.
