CICEG president takes reins of national footwear industry body

The president of the CICEG footwear industry association in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, Luis Gerardo González, will assume leadership of national footwear industry body Canaical, it has been announced.

He will serve a president of Canaical for 2018-19, with the option of being re-elected for a second annual term. 

His appointment is due to CICEG and Canaical’s “shared agenda to work on behalf of and defend the footwear industry”.

Commenting on his new role, Mr González said: “It is a very important moment for the footwear industry. I believe we need to be more united to strengthen the companies within this sector. By sharing CICEG’s knowledge with our friends in Mexico City, we will see that it is worthwhile to work together”.
