CICEG calls on entrepreneurs to enter footwear industry

23/08/2017
The president of the CICEG footwear industry association in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, Luis Gerardo González, has said the organisation is working hard to help small and medium-sized shoe companies in the region increase their productivity.

Speaking at an event to present the details of Mexico’s ‘National Week of Entrepreneurship’, Mr Gerardo explained that CICEG sees it as “vitally important” to take action so that these companies are able to create products that have added value.

He added that CICEG is implementing programmes specifically targeted at ‘microentrepreneurs’ and new business owners. These schemes are designed to help the entrepreneurs to apply best practices in production and administration.

Mr Gerardo also emphasised that only a small investment is required to launch a footwear business and invited aspiring entrepreneurs to take the steps to becoming business owners.
