Shoe-focused intellectual property office opens in Lucheng

25/01/2024

Lucheng, a district of Wenzhou in China’s Zhejiang province well-known for its shoe-making industry, has opened the doors to an office of intellectual property regulation dedicated to the local footwear market.

The move falls in step with recommendations issued by the country’s Central Committee and State Council in September 2021, ‘Guidelines for building a powerful country with intellectual property rights (2021-2035)’. Lucheng district’s market supervision bureau was responsible for inaugurating the institute on behalf of Zhejiang administrators.

It is hoped that the office will help spearhead the roll-out of “grassroots intellectual property mechanism with regional characteristics”, reports said.
