Ferragamo offers bespoke option for Giglio range
10/10/2016
The programme was announced earlier this year and Ferragamo has now launched an accompanying website, where customers can customise various aspects of their purchase, including material, colour and buckle finish. They will also be able to add lettering to the sole.
The labour-intensive process required to create each pair of shoes in the Giglio range is the reasoning behind the programme. They are constructed using Ferragamo’s Tramezza method, which sees a flexible layer of leather inserted between the insole and sole to increase durability. The process requires more than 320 individual processes and over four hours’ manual work by cobblers.
Among the material used are quality hand-finished leather and vegetable-tanned leather, used in the insole.
