Luxury brands preparing for 2020 Olympics in Japan

Several luxury brands are refurbishing their flagship stores in the upscale Ginza district in Tokyo ahead of an expected influx of tourists for the 2020 Olympic Games in the Japanese capital.

Luxury shoe and leathergoods brand Salvatore Ferragamo is remodelling its store in Ginza’s main shopping district for the first time in 13 years. A temporary shop has been established nearby until the renovation is completed in August 2016.

Italian fashion house Giorgio Armani is considering overhauling its Armani Ginza Tower with the building celebrating its ten-year anniversary in 2017. Jewellery and watch brand Cartier is also refurbishing its store in the region.
