Ferruccio Ferragamo, president of Salvatore Ferragamo, said he was excited to welcome Mr Andrew, who he described as “dynamic” and an “established talent”.
“We have a proud history of nurturing design talent and we believe that Paul's credo very much matches the spirit at the heart of our house,” he added.
Paul Andrew founded an eponymous line of women’s shoes in 2013, having gained experience at Calvin Klein and Alexander McQueen. In 2014, he became the first footwear designer to win the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, which rewards the most promising young fashion designers.
“I look forward to bringing a new perspective to the company in line with the demands of today's marketplace, marrying the power of its heritage and industrial force with high design and the latest innovations in material and make,” he said of his appointment at Ferragamo.
