Revenue down at Ferragamo but footwear sales rise
Luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo reported a 1.7% drop in revenue to €710 million in the first half of 2016, on which it achieved a net profit of €90 million. Revenue in the second quarter of the year was down 2% to €389 million.

Despite an overall drop in revenue, sales of shoes registered a 1% increase in sales in the first half of the year. In comparison, sales of handbags and leather accessories decreased 3% compared to the same period of 2015.

Sales in various regions were affected by a drop in tourist flows. Revenue from the Asia Pacific region dropped 4%, mainly due to the drop in business in Hong Kong, according to the company. Reduced tourist numbers also impacted Europe, where revenue was down 3%. North America was a bright spot, recording a 2% increase in sales.
