The brand previously co-managed distribution in the region with Chinese company Trinity Limited. Ferragamo entered into a joint venture with Trinity-owned Ferrinch and Trinity Luxury Brand Holdings in 2012. It covered the distribution of its products in South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. This resulted in the creation of separate Ferragamo distribution divisions to operate the brand’s 70 mono-brand stores in these countries.
In the same year, Ferragamo brought an additional 30% stake in the venture, raising its holding to 80%. The five-year contract gave it the option to purchase the remaining stake if certain conditions were present. It has now decided to exercise this option, giving it 100% of the capital from its distribution in the region.
