Elda to host national footwear congress

The next edition of Spain’s national footwear congress will take place in Elda in the province of Alicante on October 7.

The event is co-organised by footwear research and technology centre Inescop and the country’s principal footwear industry, FICE.

It will bring together footwear industry figures from all over the country, where they will discuss the progress Spain has made towards establishing the ‘Factory of the Future’.

‘Factory of the Future’ efforts have focused strongly on automation, which would mean more flexible manufacturing, better options when it comes to personalising products and shorter lead-times.
