University of Alicante wants to run footwear courses at new campus

In an address at the event, the university’s rector, Manuel Palomar, paid tribute to Elda’s long-standing footwear industry.
“We want to maximise the particular character of Elda,” he said, “and that means we have to make use of the great footwear industry tradition that exists in this area. This means we have to set up courses that focus on the footwear sector and encourage innovation and research.”
