Elda shoemakers represented at international tourism fair

Representatives from Spain’s national footwear museum in Elda recently travelled to Barcelona to present products from the region at the Catalonia International Tourism Show in Barcelona (April 21-23).

Elda shared an exhibition space with the nearby shoemaking towns of Agost, Alcoy, Elche and Villena, for what was its first time participating at the show. 

The national footwear museum exhibited items of footwear that show the evolution of shoe design in the region, as well photographs of historic footwear that serve as a tourist attraction. Loles Esteve, director of the museum, said participating at the event provides an opportunity to display Elda’s shoemaking pedigree to a wider public.
