The course, which is being co-organised by footwear industry research centre Inescop and Elda’s city council, will focus on digital design and technology related to the footwear industry. It will primarily consist of practical training.
Ahead of the start of classes, local footwear designer Hannibal Laguna delivered the inaugural conference on April 23 in Elda, where some of the classes will take place. Classes will also be held at Inescop’s headquarters in Elche.
Mr Laguna also used his time in Elda to donate a pair of his shoes to Spain’s national footwear museum, located in the town. He has used the shoes, made by Spanish brand Callaghan, extensively during his travels.
Speaking during the presentation, he said: “It is the only pair of shoes I still have which have set foot on five continents. They been round the world with me twice and they bring me great memories of traveling with friends."
