Pensole launches first class focusing on material design
The Pensole Footwear Design Academy, an organisation that trains the next generation of athletic footwear designers, has announced a new programme alongside soling technology provider Vibram.

The class will follow the same structure as Pensole’s previous programmes but will introduce its new Material Design Principles, which aim to help students expand their knowledge of colour and material design.

The four-week intensive programme will take place in February and March of 2017 at Pensole’s headquarters in Portland, US. Applicants can apply until January 15, with tuition fully-funded.

Those selected will be charged with designing an athleisure shoe based on a new Vibram outsole. They will be assisted by personnel from Vibram, including design directors, designers and technicians, who will be available to share their knowledge and experience with the students.
