Beijing welcomes China’s first Clarks Originals boutique

Clarks Originals, a popular sub-brand of UK shoemaker Clarks, has inaugurated its first retail store in China inside Beijing’s Taikoo Li Sanlitun shopping centre.

 According to local media reports, the location opened its doors on June 3. The company established its very first Clarks Originals boutique in Tokyo’s Harajuku district last summer.

 Hong Kong-based fashion and footwear group Viva, Clarks’ majority shareholder, reported revenues of about $380 million for the first three months back in May. It said revenues generated by the shoemaker contributed 86% of its total, bringing in around $325 million.
