BFA welcomes new chair
Industry representative body the British Footwear Association (BFA) has named Jane Wilson, formerly a non-executive director, to the position of chair of its board of directors.

Ms Wilson replaces Robert Perkins, who held the position for over four years. She described the chance to build on Mr Perkins’ legacy as an honour.

“We are determined to be an outstanding voice for the British footwear industry and represent our members’ best interests while bringing the whole sector together to ensure businesses have sustainable and successful futures,” she said.

Ms Wilson is presently chief executive at William Lamb Group, a role she has served in since 2018. Earlier in her career, she worked at companies such as Start-Rite and Clarks. Other current responsibilities include voluntary roles with the Worshipful Company of Patternmakers (since 2001) and the provision of executive-level consultancy services as founder and managing partner at Moot Management Consulting.

BFA chief executive, Lucy Reece-Raybould, commented: “I very much look forward to achieving the BFA’s next goals and objectives with the support and guidance of Jane, whose breadth of experience in the footwear sector has been a welcome addition to the board since she joined in October 2021.”

Another Clarks alumna, Annette Cove, has also been appointed non-executive director at the BFA. In addition to founding footwear recruitment firm Annette Cove Associates, Ms Cove has previously worked at a senior level for Pentland Brands and British Shoe Corporation.
