A second life for Clarks children’s shoes
Footwear group Clarks has become a member of online marketplace Dotte.
This UK-based platform describes itself as a “resale collective” that allows parents to buy, sell, recycle or even donate children’s shoes and clothes so that they do not end up in landfill. Dotte claims to be a “full-circle remedy to fast fashion and a force for good”.
Chief marketing officer for Clarks, Tara McRae, noted that the collaboration with dotte will complement sustainability initiatives that the company already has under way. These include ‘Every Move Matters’, a platform launched by Clarks with a panel of experts on the environment who will help guide the company in its overall sustainability strategy.
“This is an exciting step towards our sustainability goals, closing the loop while offering the community an efficient, easy and environmentally friendly solution for outgrown shoes,” she said.
