Flat revenue for Caleres in third quarter

27/11/2018
Footwear group Caleres has reported consolidated sales of $775.8 million in the third quarter of 2018. This figure is flat compared to the same period of last year.

The group’s brand portfolio, which includes Allen Edmonds, Sam Edelman, Diane von Furstenberg and Dr Scholl’s Shoes, brought in revenue of $327.1 million, an increase of 8.5% year on year. This included a contribution from comfort footwear brand Vionic, which Caleres acquired in October.

Revenue from Caleres’ discount retail chain Famous Footwear dropped 5.1% to $448.8 million. This came despite a 2.8% increase in same-store sales. It attributed this dip to the fact that one week of back-to-school sales were included in its second quarter results rather than those for the last three months.

For the first nine months of 2018, Caleres’ consolidated sales were just over $2.1 billion, 1.5% higher year on year.
