Manolo Blahnik recognised at Walpole Luxury Awards

Renowned shoe designer Manolo Blahnik was among the individuals and companies recognised at the annual Walpole British Luxury Awards, which took place in London on November 19.

He was named Luxury Legend in recognition of his 40-year career in footwear design.

Walpole is the official body for the UK luxury industry and each year it hands out the Luxury Awards to rewards those that have demonstrated what it calls “the pinnacle of excellence” in the last year.

Other awards on the night went to Alison Loehnis, president of Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter, who was recognised as a Luxury Leader. Luxury Maker of the Year was leathergoods brand Mulberry, while luxury handbag maker Demellier was among the recipients of the Brands of Tomorrow Awards, given to emerging luxury industry talent.
