UK footwear awards issues call for entries

UK charity Footwear Friends has opened nominations for its annual awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating British shoe design talent.

The 183 year-old charity established the awards to recognise young entrepreneurs. 
The awards for 2019 are:

• The Worshipful Company of Cordwainer’s Award for Innovation/ Entrepreneurship of £5,000, plus a 12-month mentoring programme

• The Micro-Pak Award of £2,500 plus a mentoring programme

• The BFA Award – a year’s free membership as an associate member

Judging will take place in September and the awards will be held in London on October 9. More information is available on the Footwear Friends website.
