Guatemala: export award for footwear group

Agexport said the leather sector in general was one of the segments of the central American country’s economy that had contributed positively to exports last year.
Total values of exports of paper, cardboard and leather for the year were almost $1.8 billion, growth of around 10% for these three key categories.
Grupo Cobán employs 700 people in the Alta Verapaz department, with many workers coming in from the surrounding rural area every day.
It has been making what Agexport calls “high-quality, durable footwear" for more than 100 years.
