Alpargatas sees opportunity for Havaianas in Argentina

18/10/2017
The Argentinian division of Brazilian casual footwear manufacturer Alpargatas has announced it plans to relaunch sandal brand Havaianas in the country.

The CEO of Alpargatas Argentina, Diego Mohadeb, has said the company will invest 100 million pesos ($5.7 million) over the next three years to boost the brand’s presence. This money will be used to build a distribution network in Argentina. It will also consider establishing own-brand stores in the future.

Alpargatas has explained that the reasons for this move include changes in policy by the new Argentinian government and the recovery of shoe consumption in the country.
