Clarks to carry out review of stores

22/02/2017
UK footwear group Clarks has enlisted consultancy firm Harper Dennis Hobbs to carry out a review of its high-street stores.

The company will examine Clarks’ 550 retail outlets to see if the company is in the right locations and has the right type of stores. It will also check if the retailer is being treated fairly by landlords and if its rents are competitive.

Clarks is not intending to close any stores or cut jobs, according to reports, but some relocations may take place.

Mike Shearwood, CEO of Clarks, said the company wanted to make sure it had “the best possible property portfolio”.
