Spanish footwear companies eye spoils from US
Spanish footwear manufacturers command an average €45.41 pair at export level for sales to the US, the highest of any of its export markets, according to Spanish footwear association FICE.
During the first 11 months of 2015, exports of Spanish footwear to the US amounted to 3.5 million pairs worth €160.5 million, an increase of 11% in volume and 21% in value.
FICE said: “The US is the largest importer of footwear in the world. The prospects for this market are positive based on the right positioning of Made in Spain and the favourable euro/dollar exchange rate.”
The association is supporting 53 brands at Magic Market Week in Las Vegas (February 16 to 18 2016).
