Spanish footwear companies court Japanese buyers
Twenty-three Spanish footwear companies representing 32 brands are travelling to Japan as part of a FICE (Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries) delegation to drum up business at the Made in Spain footwear show at the start of February.
The last edition of the exhibition attracted more than 780 visitors, 38% of whom were distributors, 27% boutiques, 18% shoe retailers shoes and 9% were representing department stores.
Exports of Spanish footwear to Japan during the first 10 months of 2015 reached €36 million.
During 2014, the Japanese country was ranked as the 11th biggest market for Spanish footwear(in terms of value)and the first in Asia, with exports have totalling €48 million (2.4 million pairs).
