New president for FICE

Spanish footwear industry federation FICE has appointed José Monzonís as its new executive president. He replaces José Sanchís, who has led the organisation since 2013 following the retirement and then untimely death of former long-time president, Rafael Calvo.

Mr Monzonís joined FICE in July and became managing director of a newly created commercial arm, FICE Servicios, which carries out international promotion of the Spanish shoe industry.

At the time of the announcement, which followed FICE’s general assembly on November 25, José Sanchís said he was confident he was leaving the organisation on a firm footing, having carried out considerable internal restructuring.
