Early feedback on Momad Shoes brings a date-change

Immediate feedback on the concept behind the new Momad Shoes exhibition, which will launch in Madrid in March, have convinced the organisers to alter the dates.

Event organiser Ifema ran Modacalzado as a dedicated footwear event twice a year in Madrid until 2013. Early attempts to present it as one component of wider fashion event Momad Metrópolis left many footwear companies, long-term exhibitors at Modacalzado, feeling dissatisfied and in October 2015 Ifema announced it would run Momad Shoes as a separate event, a month later in the calendar than Momad Metrópolis.

Ifema organised a roadshow to explain its new thinking to footwear manufacturers and brands around Spain and these companies quickly said they want Momad Shoes to come to its conclusion at the weekend to make it easier for smaller, independent footwear retailers to take a day out to travel to Madrid to view new collections and place orders.

As a result of this feedback, Ifema has amended the dates of the inaugural edition of Momad Shoes. It will now start and end a day earlier than originally planned and run from Friday, March 4 until Sunday, March 6.
