Vietnamese footwear makers profit from China moves
The Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (Lefaso) is targeting $14 billion in exports for 2015 after a record 2014 which saw footwear exports growing 23%.
Reports from Vietnam say exports to the US grew 20% to $3.2 billion as companies switched production from China, where wages have been rising, while exports to Germany grew 31% to $600 million.
There was a large leap to Brazil, which grew 393% on the back of a policy to deter cheap imports from China.
