SATRA pleased with progress of footwear efficiency system

UK-based testing and research firm SATRA has announced record sales of its ‘TimeLine’ production efficiency system in 2014, with Asian manufacturers the predominant customers.

Timeline is a database and configuration tool that enables manufacturers to calculate the optimum time required to carry out shoe making, which SATRA says enables factory production planners to produce reliable direct labour times and, therefore, to reduce cost.

At its core is a system that identifies the time required to complete simple actions, combined with the times required to carry out typical shoe-making operations based on a decade of SATRA’s research.
