Revamped look for BFA in its 120th anniversary year

30/01/2019
To mark its 120th anniversary, the British Footwear Association (BFA) has officially launched its new logo and website.

“The BFA has supported, celebrated and brought the British shoe industry together for more than a century and we're proud of the manufacturers, merchants and artisan-makers we represent,” the organisation has said.

Its new website features a revamped news section, where the BFA will post information and items of interest from the UK footwear industry. Among the early posts to feature was news of the visit of the Prince of Wales to the factories of Trickers and Gaziano & Girling, both based in Northampton, on January 28. He met apprentices and workers and saw the various techniques used to create a pair of shoes.

In addition, for each month of 2019 the BFA will publish an article dedicated to a different decade of its history, explaining the techniques and companies that were prominent during that specific period. The first article covers the late 1890s and the early 1900s and focuses on the shoemaking heritage of Northampton, the UK’s footwear heartland.
