Huajian wants to increase Ethiopian workforce to 100,000

                    During a recent visit to the company’s factory in the Eastern Industrial Zone of Addis Ababa, Ms Zhang said Huajian’s goal was to employ 100,000 local workers within five years. It currently employs 4,200, which will be increased to 6,000 next year.
The company offers in-depth training to workers before they begin working at the factory. As well as being trained for individual roles, which include shoe construction and packaging of products, they are also given a general overview of the entire shoemaking process to that they understand it better. Huajian also offers basic Chinese language training to help the workers integrate in the company.
"We are very keen on transferring technological and shoemaking skills to the Ethiopian people so that they are also able to become accomplished entrepreneurs," she added.
