DSW branches out with first overseas store

US-based shoe retailer DSW has opened its first shop outside of North America, in Oman’s Muscat Grand Mall, and has outlined plans to set up in other markets over the next five years.

Chief commercial officer Simon Nankervis said the aim is to create “the largest footwear retail destination in the region”. 

“We are extremely pleased with the initial customer reaction to our first store in the region,” he said. “We look forward to working together with Apparel Group, our franchise partner in the region, to introduce our brand to new customers and additional markets over the next five years.”
