Guanajuato maintains its prominence in footwear exports from Mexico

The shoe and leather sector in the Mexican state of Guanajuato brought in export earnings of $209 million in the first six months of 2016.

State governor, Miguel Márquez Márquez, unveiled the figures at the November edition of the Anpic exhibition, which ran in the city of León from November 2-4.

He said a total of 148 companies in Guanajuato are currently involved in exporting footwear and leather and that the state is responsible for 58% of all of Mexico’s shoe and leather exports by volume and for 70% of the total by value.
