The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has partnered with the Italian Trade Commission to coordinate the participation of companies from the country in the forthcoming Indian Fashion Week in New Delhi (October 12-16).

The FDCI will provide the platform for Italy’s main footwear manufacturers’ association, Assocalzaturifici, and Italian leathergoods association Aimpes, to showcase leathergoods, including handbags and shoes, from 41 brands.

Francesco Pensabene, Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Italy and Coordinator for Italian Trade Commission Offices in India, said he was “extremely excited” that Italian brands would participate in the event, adding that it would provide an opportunity to “foster trade relations between India and Italy in the fashion sector”.
