Micam offers “a unique shop-window”, Assocalzaturifici says
The Italian footwear manufacturers’ association, Assocalzaturifici, has said almost 45,000 visitors attended the most recent edition of the Micam exhibition in Milan (September 3-6). In this, the eighty-second edition of the event, 1,500 exhibiting companies took part, presenting the latest footwear collections of almost 2,000 shoe brands.

Assocalzaturifici president, Annarita Pilotti, said at a press conference the day before the start of the show that the participation of more than 800 of her organisation’s member companies meant Micam can offer “a unique shop-window for Italian shoes”.

She said serving as an instrument to promote footwear made in Italy was an important part of Micam’s role, especially as around 80% of Italy’s almost 5,000 footwear manufacturing companies are either small or medium-sized.
