Spain’s Victoria celebrates 100 years with ‘first love’ campaign
Spanish footwear brand Victoria is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special marketing campaign, limited editions and a book, all centred around the theme ‘first love’.
Established in La Rioja in 1915, founder Gregorio named the company’s first shoe after his wife and first love, Victoria.
The brand moved to the city of Logroño, extending operations in 1928. Its vulcanizing technique became part of the production process in the 50s and its plimsolls were a popular shoe in the 70s and 80s.
Today, the Inglesa plimsolls are manufactured in Spain and are certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. The sole is made from natural rubber and the fabrics are 100% Spanish cotton.
In 2006, Victoria began to export and now has a presence in more than 40 countries.
