‘Underestimated’ Turkish favour Italian shoes
Italian footwear manufacturers association Assocalzaturifici is leading a new group of Italian companies to Turkish show AYMOD, after exports to the country grew 22.1% in value for the first six months of 2014.
Cleto Sagripanti, president of Assocalzaturifici, described the show as the third most important footwear exhibition and said the market has “great potential - often underestimated”.
"We are ready to take on this third event with made in Italy footwear in Turkey, a country that continues to give us satisfaction and represent an interesting opportunity for our companies," he said.
“Our presence at the show will be enhanced by promotion activities that provide, among other things, an incoming programme in collaboration with the organisers of the event."
Italian exports to Turkey grew 22.1% in value to €36.4 million from January to the end of June, and the average price increased by a quarter.
However, there was a 2.4% decrease in volume to 835,000 pairs.
Aymod will take place at the CNR Expo Centre in Istanbul, November 5 to 8.
