Peak reaches new heights with Fujian competition
The 2021 Fujian Footwear Design Vocational Skills Competition was held in Quanzhou recently.
A designer from sports shoe company Peak named Zeng Xianyu placed first, following a series of theory and practical tests on October 20. Almost 190 footwear designers entered the competition in total, local media said.
Peak, alongside other local organisations including Hongxing Erke, was also singled out as an “excellent” enterprise.
Deputy director of the provincial department of industry and information technology, Chen Chuanfang, commented in his closing speech that the competition has traditionally played an active role in improving the skills of employees, as well as finding and training “outstanding” design talents.
Mr Chen added that he hoped participating footwear designers and shoe companies would go on to promote the spirit of artisanship, implement new concepts and “contribute new and greater goals for the overall high-quality development of the industry”.
