CLIA participates in major Dalian fashion fair
China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) recently announced its participation in the three-day China (Dalian) International Garment and Textile Fair, scheduled to run until September 12.
The event, established in 1988, is the oldest of its kind in China.
Co-sponsored by the country’s Ministry of Commerce and the local government in Dalian (the second-largest city in the north-eastern Chinese province of Liaoning), the event’s theme, according to CLIA, is the “blooming” of the domestic fashion industry.
Prominent individuals from the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China National Textile and Apparel Council, China National Garment Association (CNGA) and the local governments of Liaoning and Dalian, plus textile and apparel associations of “all levels”, are attending the fair, CLIA said.
Zhang Yan, assistant to CLIA chairman, Li Yuzhong, is participating on the national leather association’s behalf.
On day one of the event, CNGA reportedly awarded the city of Dalian “China garment customisation industry base” status.
