Belgian life sciences company Eurofins Scientific has said members of the Valencian region’s main shoe industry association, Avecal, can access the testing and research services at its laboratory in Elche for a reduced price.

This offer has also been extended to companies that are part of Spain’s footwear component association, AEC.

Eurofins inaugurated its testing laboratory in Elche in October 2017. It includes state of the art equipment for both chemical and physical testing procedures, including analysis of restricted substance content, and quality control of materials and finished products. 

It invested a total of €1.7 million in the site ahead of its launch.

Last week, Eurofins announced the acquisition of BLC Leather Technology Centre, the organisation that runs multi-stakeholder body the Leather Working Group. It will become part of Eurofins’ consumer products testing division.
