Ferragamo chairman rejects talk of sale

21/03/2018
The chairman of Italian footwear and leathergoods group Salvatore Ferragamo, Ferrucio Ferragamo, has said selling the company is “out of the question”.

He made the comments after Ferragamo confirmed a 3.1% fall in revenue in 2017. Its core profit for the year fell 23%.

Mr Ferragamo has taken on temporary managing control of the group following the departure of chief executive Eraldo Poletto, who left his position on March 8.

The chairman revealed he intends to run the company for as briefly as possible, but that it would take the time needed to find the right chief executive. He also said the candidate will come from outside the company.
