Argentina to limit footwear imports

02/11/2016
Argentina will limit imports of footwear to 24 million pairs for the next two years, according to the president of Argentina’s main footwear industry association, CIC.

Alberto Sellaro made the announcement in an interview with a local radio station. He added that the agreement was made in response to a drop in shoe sales in Argentina, which have decreased between 25% and 30%, according to Mr Sellaro.

In the first eight months of 2016, imports of footwear to Argentina increased 24%.
