M&S supplier Tata archives social responsibility standard
As part of Marks & Spencer’s (M&S) Sustainability Management Framework Project, India-based footwear supplier Tata International Footwear has been certified ISO 26000, which outlines recommendations for making organisations more socially responsible.
Nine of M&S’s biggest suppliers in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been selected for the project to integrate social and environmental sustainability into their business strategy using the ISO standard.
The task group chair of ISO, Martin Neureiter, visited TIL in Chennai for the verification process and praised its ‘affirmative action’ and ‘employee engagement’ initiatives.
