Stark warning from new head of Italian footwear-makers group

Mr Ferracuti, CEO of children's footwear brand Missouri, said he will focus on innovation and synergies to relaunch footwear companies within the Marche region, one of the heartlands of high-end footwear manufacture in Italy.
"During this period of economic crisis we need ideas and innovation, the same kind that we use in our companies," he said. "We have been speaking of synergies for a long time, but now we must put them into practise, before it's too late. We must keep pace with international markets.
"We must focus on Made in Italy, because it is and will be our winning card."
