Scarosso, a German-owned footwear brand specialising in shoes handmade in Italy, is to open a sales outlet in Sweden for the first time with a pop-up store in Stockholm in August to coincide with fashion week there.

Founded in Milan in 2010 by two German MBA students who met at the Bocconi University, Moritz Offney and Marco Reiter, Scarosso says its aim is to make high-quality shoes handmade in Italy available at affordable prices.

Its shoes are made by artisans in Montegranaro in Le Marche, Italy’s most prominent footwear-manufacturing region. Men’s styles start at EUR 149 per pair and women’s styles are available for EUR 89. Customised shoes are also part of the product range.

Soles, linings and uppers are made from Italian leather, which Scarosso sources from Milan-based tanning group Bonaudo.

The brand’s main showroom is in Berlin and it has a permanent shop in Hamburg.
