Micam predicts growing demand for suede and nubuck
The demand for suede and nubuck within one of the key trend categories for spring-summer 27 footwear is expected to grow over 700%, according to a guide published by Italian footwear fair Micam.
Created in partnership with AI agency Livetrend, the Buyers’ Guide highlights the main themes that will inform footwear styles for the season, gathered by analysing social media, fashion shows, retail data and searches.
The “retro runner” (pictured), a style that lends itself to leather and suede, is expected to grow 5% but the “barefoot” version of this will increase 114%. “Vintage suede” trainers could increase 30%.
Similarly, The Neo Football is expected to increase 10%, while demand for suede clogs is expected to grow 20%.
The next Micam Milano will take place between September 13 and 15.
