Micam under way
Edition 101 of the Micam exhibition opened in Milan on February 22, running for three days.
This edition brought 795 brands to exhibit, 492 from outside Italy and 393 of them from the host nation.
The show’s director, Paolo Borghini, said support from Italy’s export promotions agency, ICE, had helped bring buyers from more than 120 countries to Milan for the event.
“We know from these numbers that Micam is an important event for the industry,” Mr Borghini said. “It’s not only about business. We try also to provide good content to help these buyers to stay informed and keep up to date with the latest trends. All the main operators in the industry know that they have to come to Micam.”
He said the organisers were pleased to have altered the layout to set up a model of footwear and leathergoods production for shoes and leathergoods. Called The Hub, Mr Borghini described it as an area dedicated to education, craftsmanship and creativity.
