Latin America’s largest fashion group to split up
Belo Horizonte-based Azzas 2154, which describes itself as Latin America’s biggest fashion group, is to split into two.
It formed in 2024, when the Arezzo shoes and bags group and fashion group Soma joined forces.
The new group comprised 27 different brands, 22,500 employees, 2,000 stores and a presence in 21,500 multi-brand retailers.
Its major shareholders have announced that they will now divide the group, with Arezzo taking control of footwear and accessories brands, including Arezzo, Schutz, Anacapri, Alexandre Birman and Carol Bassi.
Soma will take control of brands including Animale, NV, Maria Filó and Cris Barros.
The complicated new set-up will also include a new jointly owned company that will run the Farm group of fashion brands.
