Arezzo opens first store in China
08/05/2008
Brazilian fashion shoe manufacturer and exporter Arezzo is to open its first shop on Chinese soil in Shanghai, on May 15. The announcement was made at the 'Fashion Market' international marketing seminar in São Paulo, by designer Anderson Birman, who is in line to take over the running of the company.
Arezzo came about at the end of 2007 after the merger of Calçados Arezzo and Mr Birman's former company, Schutz Calçados. It is one of Latin America’s main fashion footwear and accessory brands. Also at the end of 2007, 25% of the group was sold to the Tarpon All Equities Fund, part of the Tarpon Investment Group. Tarpon's total financial input into Arezzo is estimated at around $45 million.
The company has ambitious plans for growth in the Asian market expecting to open 12 stores there in 2008 and a total of 207 by 2014.
