Skechers strengthens market position in United States
Skechers has announced that it is now the second largest footwear brand in the United States by units sold, highlighting the company's continued growth across lifestyle, work, children's and performance footwear categories.
The California-based footwear company said its position has been driven by demand for its comfort-focused products, affordable pricing and expanding range of technical performance footwear. Skechers' portfolio includes products for running, golf, basketball, pickleball and football, alongside a range of casual and fashion footwear.
Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, said the company has spent more than three decades developing footwear designed to meet the needs of a broad consumer base, from families and workers to professional athletes.
Skechers noted that its growing roster of sponsored athletes and sports partnerships has helped strengthen awareness of the brand's performance credentials in recent years. The company also pointed to the popularity of comfort-focused features such as Hands Free Slip-ins and other proprietary footwear technologies.
